We had a most excellent vacation this Summer in Yellowstone. This time of year it is usually quite hot but this time around the weather was just perfect! A place we always stop at on our way to Yellowstone is Howard Springs. The water is ice cold. We usually fill up any empty water bottles and take a nice long drink before we are on the road again. There were many butterflies around Howard Springs this time and Kayden had such fun trying to catch them. This butterfly was perfectly content to sit in Kayden's hand.
Here is my adorable family sitting by Old Faithful. I can never get them to look at the Camera at the same time! Kayden is pretending to be a chicken, Carson is being goofy and Adison is striking a pose.

One of our favorite things to do this year was to go on a boat ride on Yellowstone Lake. We rented a boat for about an hour and a half and Ryan drove it around. Of course Ryan let all the kids take a turn driving the boat. Here is Adison looking cute in her life jacket.

We camped at the Madison campground. This campground is right by the Madison river. The kids love swimming in this river even though it is a bit cold. Last year they caught frogs, fish and snakes in the river - no such luck this time.

Here is the adorable family once again in Mammoth. We took a break on a picnic table that anyone can see from the parks camera that they have posted on their website. Ryan wanted his parents to be able to see us sitting here.

Inside Mammoth is a fun museam full of stuffed animals. Carson got a kick taking this picture up close of a Mountain Lion.

One of the beautiful pools in Yellowstone. This one is along the scenic Firehole river drive.

My family once again by the Firehole Lake.

Well we had a blast. We saw a bunch of various birds, an eagle, an otter, some elk, deer, bison, coyote and a black bear. It was so much fun and enjoyable. We promised ourselves that we will camp somewhere else before we come back here but I don't know if we can keep that promise. We will see.

Yellowstone Trip coming soon!

As soon as I have time to go through my pics I will post about our family trip to Yellowstone.

Golden Urchin - Madeline Brent

A couple of weeks ago I finished reading the book Golden Urchin by Madeline Brent. Madeline did another fabulous job at a book, this historical romance is very clean and enjoyable.

City of Glass by Cassandra Clare

Today I finished reading the City of Glass. I enjoyed it very much. This is the third book of The Mortal Instruments series. The other books in the series are City of Ashes and City of Bones. This series is full of werewolves, vampires and Shadowhunters - my favorite kind of books!

Family Reunion in June

We recently had a fun family reunion in Heber City. It was so much fun. The above photo is Breakfast with Lori.
Ryan, Adison, Carson, Kayden and Jaden sitting in anticipation for the obstacle course we were going on.

This was one of the obastacle course things we did. It was a lot of fun. Everyone had to balance on the log. The challenge was that to talk to each other we had to say the word banana between each word! It banana was banana a banana blast banana.

A priceless picture of my brother Kelly getting ready for the zip line.

Ryan up on the zip line.

My little boy Carson was so brave to do the zip line (I was a chicken and didn't do it). I was so proud of him!

Jato

A few weeks ago Ryan got a new toy! I was planning on posting some pics of it but forgot until now. It is a gas powered remote control car. It is really nice and Ryan has been having lots of fun with it. I am going to record him with it some day and will post it for anyone who wants to see.

Blast Off!

I felt like scrapbooking a little today and really need to catch up on some photos. The layout I did is with pictures clear back from 2001. It is of Ryan and Carson on a ride at Disneyland. I got my layout inspiration from this layout:

Merlin's Keep - Madeline Brent

I would have finished this book sooner but I couldn't get much reading done in the hospital. There was so much down time at the hospital when Mom was out of it that I could of read but I couldn't stop holding her hand in case she needed me. However, once she told me to stop holding her hand because I was making her too hot I got some reading done.

This is book is another historical romance. I really enjoyed the story line as well. Other than history and romance it also includes a bit of mystical magic. It was a very interesting read with several twists.

A Long Week

Well it has been a long week. A few days after moms surgery she was back in the hospital with phnemonia. That is where I have spent most of my time lately. She is still there but now that more visitors are allowed I am hoping to get a little time at home. My family and I were going to go to Yellowstone for my birthday this weekend but that has been postponed till the end of the month. I have so much I need/want to accomplish this weekend, hopefully it will all get done.
